Day One: Vacationing in November is something new for me. Usually, I’m up to my ears in holiday to-do lists, trips to the park or the gym, and in years past, volleyball practices, games, and tournaments with my younger daughter. Not this year- so we took a week long trip out west.
I have always wanted to see Colorado, since those first days of listening to John Denver on the radio and then getting to see him in concert numerous times in the 70s and 80s. Going to Colorado before ski season means the rates are lower, and there aren’t crowds everywhere. Leaving from Detroit Metro airport, we found ourselves in Denver several hours later. Then we drove from Denver to Breckenridge on a gloriously sunny day. Watching the mountains loom up in front of the rental car, seeing views and vistas I’ve only seen in pictures was a truly great beginning to a wonderful week.
