June always seems to fly by- the days are long and lovely, yet erased from the calendar too soon. Flowers are in bloom, the grass is sweet, and fireflies appear at dusk. I sit on my front porch most nights, enjoying the sun sinking over the swimming pool, until the sky is blue-black and starry.
I sit now on my back patio enjoying the first days of July, which are hot and sticky, yet as lovely as those of June. With enough rain, the lawns and flowers and greenery continue to thrive, if a little thirstily during the daylight hours. As the sun drops below the tree line and the breeze picks up I will pull out my watering can, retrieve rainwater from the buckets, and give them their evening dose. And thus will end another day of the summer of 2024.
Here is a picture of my fairy garden, which my girls built for me in the front landscaping
